State Chapter Programs & Recognition

1. State Recognition Categories and Deadlines:

  • Largest State Chapter
  • Largest Increase in State Chapter Membership
  • Largest State Chapter Membership—Professional Division
  • State Recruitment of Chapters

Recognition in each category:

  • Certificate for top state chapter (NFLC)
  • Certificates for top two state chapters in each region at Regional Campaign Rally and Recognition Session (NLC)
  • Plaque for top state presented at NLC Opening Session

Deadlines: October 20 (Fall), April 1 (Spring) for all but PD, which is April 30

2. FBLA State Officer Track at NFLCs—workshop track for state officers focused on national programs, membership growth, and retention. Offers an opportunity for your FBLA state officers to work with FBLA national officers and FBLA state officers from across the country.

Recognition:

  • Ribbon at NFLC
  • Digital Badge available for FBLA State Officers

3. BAA Fight to the Finish—contest that ranks the top ten states with the most Business Achievement Award (BAA) entries.

Recognition:

  • Website and certificates at Regional Campaign Rally and Recognition Session (NLC) for top ten states
  • NLC Opening Session priority seating for top three states

4. Gold Seal Award of Merit (Hollis and Kitty Guy Award)—nominated by state chair, local chapters participate in projects and programs identified with the goals of FBLA-PBL.

Recognition:

  • Certificate in NLC registration packet
  • Ribbon (NLC)
  • Standing recognition in Regional Campaign Rally and Recognition Session (NLC)

Deadline: Second Friday in May; each state may select two chapters or 15 percent of its total number of active chapters (whichever is greater)

5. Who’s Who—nominated by state chair, recognizes most outstanding member in each state.

Recognition:

  • Certificate and gift in Regional Campaign Rally and Recognition Session(NLC)
  • Opening Session introduction of winners
  • Name in Awards of Excellence Program

Deadline: Second Friday in May; each state may enter one participant

6. Outstanding Adviser—nominated by state chair; local adviser who makes outstanding contribution at local, state, and national level.

Recognition:

  • Certificate and gift in Regional Campaign Rally and Recognition Session (NLC)
  • Opening Session introduction of winners
  • Name in Awards of Excellence Program

Deadline: Second Friday in May; each state may enter one participant 

Local Chapter Programs & Recognition

1. Chapter Recognition Categories:

Recognition in each category:

Deadlines: April 1 (Largest Local Chapter & Local Market Share) and April 30 (Largest Local Chapter Membership–Professional Division)

2. Connect Ten—local chapters increase membership by ten or more members over last year’s number.

Recognition:

  • Ribbon (NLC)
  • Standing recognition in Regional Campaign Rally and Recognition Session (NLC)
  • Website

Deadline: April 1

3. Big Ten—top ten chapters are listed on fbla-pbl.org.

Recognition:

  • Certificate for final top ten chapters
  • Website (public)

Dates: September 1 through April 1

4. 100 Percent Class Participation—local chapters recruit 100 percent of a single class.

Recognition:

  • Certificate (generated by chapter adviser from interactive form)
  • Website

5. Membership Achievement Award—local chapters increase membership over last year’s total.

Recognition:

  • Certificate (generated by chapter adviser from interactive form)
  • Website

6. Chapter Challenge—contest that encourages recruitment, retention, and member involvement. NLC chapter delegates that complete Super Sweeps, Non-stop November, and Action Awareness receive a pin in their NLC registration packets.

Part 1. Super Sweeps

Recognition:

  • Standing recognition in Regional Campaign Rally and Recognition Session (NLC)

Dates: August 1 to October 20

Part 2. Non-Stop November

Recognition:

  • Ribbon (NLC)
  • Standing recognition in Regional Campaign Rally and Recognition Session (NLC)

Dates: November 1 to December 10

Part 3. Action Awareness

Recognition:

  • Ribbon (NLC)
  • Certificate in NLC registration packet
  • Standing recognition in Regional Campaign Rally and Recognition Session (NLC)

Dates: January 1 to March 1

7. Outstanding Chapter—local chapters complete a series of membership, community service, and education activities.

Recognition:

  • Certificate in NLC registration packet
  • Ribbon (NLC)
  • Standing recognition in Regional Campaign Rally and Recognition Session (NLC)
  • Website

8. Good Neighbor—local chapters charter or reactivate any chapter (FBLA and PBL).

1. Membership Madness—recruit five new members.
