Midland Lutheran College attends State Fall Leadership Conference

On Oct. 1, Midland Lutheran College attended the Nebraska PBL State Fall Leadership Conference at University Nebraska–Lincoln’s East Campus Student Union. Throughout the morning, PBL members had the opportunity to listen to Jim Hansen, the senior vice president of network services for the Embarq Corporation, a Fortune 500 telecommunications company. Mr. Hansen spoke on the importance of leadership within the workplace.

In addition to attending several workshops, students were able to participate in a networking lunch with several business representatives from companies such as: Ameritas Financial Center, Deloitte and Touche, Embarq Corporation, Gallup Organization, John Hancock Financial Group, and Koski Professional Group.

To conclude the afternoon, John Wirtz, the co-founder and chief operating officer of Agile Sports was the guest speaker. Mr. Wirtz presented Agile Sport’s product, the Huddle System and also shared his entrepreneurial experience of starting up Agile Sports with his partners.
