On Thursday, Nov. 8, Arlington FBLA in Nebraska hosted its annual Vollerama tournament. The coed volleyball tournament, which was held from 4 to 9 p.m., comprised of two divisions with a grand total of 24 teams competing for the 2007 title. Seventh through ninth grades made up one division, with the 10th through 12th grades in the other. Students put together teams of up to eight players. The teachers and local law enforcement also formed teams and joined in on the fun. Participants got creative inventing unique team names and interesting uniforms.
In the seventh through ninth grade division, the final match came down to Papa's Peeps and the Killer Panda’s, with Papa's Peeps emerging victoriously. The 10th through 12th grade division saw a final showdown between teachers' team Flammable and the Flamming Flamingos, with the teachers coming out on top. All spectators as well as participants paid a small fee which went towards Mothers Against Drunk Driving. By the end of the night, Arlington FBLA had raised close to $600 for this worthwhile organization.
