Lake Gibson FBLA puts service in action

Lake Gibson High School FBLA in Florida has been involved in many different activities this fall, all ending in great success.

In September, the chapter participated in the St. Jude Miracle Mile Walk, which raised over $3,600. Two students from Lake Gibson High School, Dawn Gilstrap and Megan Fussell, raised the most money for the walk and were awarded special prizes.

In October, the chapter attended the District Fall Rally where Krishawn Owens won first place in the “Elevator Speech Contest.” The chapter also participated in the Rise of the Great Pumpkin, a Halloween carnival sponsored by the clubs and organizations at Lake Gibson High School. FBLA participated by greeting the parents and children, selling the tickets, and passing out candy bags. The carnival included games, prizes, food, and entertainment. Lake Gibson FBLA is prepared food baskets for needy families for the holidays.
