On Oct. 1, PBL members from Nebraska experienced the State Fall Leadership Conference in Lincoln. The conference started off with a keynote presentation on leadership by Jim Hansen, senior vice president of network services for Embarq.

The conference continued with motivating leadership workshops presented by all the state officers addressing topics from fund-raising, communication, and CMAP. At lunch, the students were joined by over 20 business recruiters from many companies around the Midwest. Some of the companies included: Embarq, Walgreens, Deloitte and Touche, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and Ameritas Financial. The lunch enabled students to meet with key business people and recruiters. A presentation and demonstration by John Wirtz, chief operating officer of Agile Sports, concluded this successful conference.

The following day, students were invited to attend the University of Nebraska – Lincoln Career Fair with over 300 organizations in attendance. Nebraska’s Fall Leadership Conference was taken to the next level and allowed members many great opportunities.
