Centennial FBLA raises funds, awareness for March of Dimes

From Oct. 15–26, Centennial High School FBLA in California organized a schoolwide fund-raiser in order to raise money to support the March of Dimes. Centennial FBLA members worked hard for three weeks to raise $2,508. Nearly 30 members helped to make this fund-raiser a success.

Members went into 60 classrooms giving presentations on the purpose of the March of Dimes and left a bucket in each classroom. Members asked students to donate spare change. The FBLA chapter also created a friendly competition between the classrooms by offering incentives to the top three contributing classes. In the end, members would go to the classrooms and pick up the donations. The final step was for members to count the contributions of the individual classrooms.

Members gained public speaking opportunities as well as fun interactions with students all over campus while exposing Centennial High School students about the growing concern of premature babies.
