RECOGNITIONS

The Young Leader Award recognizes members with extraordinary commitment to leadership and community service. Members must have achieved at least the LEAD Explore Award to be eligible for this award. Each state may nominate one member to represent them at the NLC for this award. The entry form must be completed by the State Leader or their designee.

GOLD SEAL CHAPTER AWARD OF MERIT

HOLLIS AND KITTY GUY AWARD

The Hollis and Kitty Guy Award recognize outstanding local chapters that have actively participated in projects and programs identified with the goals of FBLA. Active local chapters must be nominated by the State Leader or their designee, and be on record in the national center as having paid dues by April 15 of the current school year. Each state may select two chapters or up to 15 percent of its total number of active local chapters, whichever is greater.

SCHOLARSHIP

NATIONAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIP

The National Leadership Conference (NLC) Scholarship is a program designed to help fund conference and travel-related costs for FBLA Middle School members to attend the NLC.

The NLC Scholarship includes a $500 check, plus a complimentary registration to the NLC ($195). Scholarship money must be used for conference and travel-related expenses. Up to 50 scholarships will be awarded each year.

Not sure if you’re attending NLC? Apply anyway! If you’re unable to attend, scholarship funds will be distributed to another applicant.

Requirements
Members who wish to be considered for an NLC Scholarship must:

  • Be on record as having paid local, state, and national dues by March 1 of the current program year
  • Submit an application with required accompanying materials by 5:00 PM ET on April 15

Application Materials
Submit the application form and attach the following required materials no later than April 15:

  • PDF of resume outlining the member’s involvement in FBLA. It should also highlight leadership positions held and awards received, whether in FBLA or other organizations.
  • PDF of signed letter of recommendation from the candidate’s local chapter adviser that describes both the applicant’s financial need and how attending the NLC would help them develop personally and professionally.
  • PDF of a one-page essay (double-spaced, Times New Roman/Calibri, 12-point font) addressing the following prompt:
    Share how attending the National Leadership Conference would benefit your personal and professional development and would not be possible without receiving this scholarship.

Timeline
Applicants who receive the scholarship and their advisers will be notified via email by May 5.

Dressed to Impress!

FBLA’s professional attire grant program for students

We are excited to announce the opening of the 2023 FBLA Dressed to Impress Applications! FBLA aims to provide business attire for up to three members in each state, one from each of the three student divisions: FBLA Middle School, FBLA High School, and FBLA Collegiate.

Eligibility:

  • Open to all FBLA members in good standing.
  • Must be dues-paid members by the application deadline.
  • Applications must be submitted by October 15, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time.

Criteria & Application Information:
In order to complete the application in its entirety, FBLA Middle School students must complete the application with an adviser.
